TOWN OF KILDARE

*SUMMARY OF TOWN BOARD MEETING

FEBRUARY 8, 2006

 

 

Present:  Chairman Dennis Franek; Supervisors Leo Schneider and Dan Lapp; Treasurer Patty Schluter; Clerk Linda Winterstein; and 6 citizens

 

1.  Call to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Kildare Town Hall by Chairman Franek. 

 

2.  Board approved the following:

     -  Minutes of the January 11, 2006 meeting; no corrections

     -  Treasurer’s report:  Total funds of $528,910.11 of which $437,368.38 must be paid to Juneau

        County, Mauston School District and WWTC for the February tax settlement, leaving a town

        balance of $91,541.73 ; no corrections

     -  Ambulance report; no corrections

     -  Clerk’s report (correspondence); no corrections

 

3.  Public Comments

     -  Donald Konemann addressed the board regarding status of West Limits Road garnishment for legal costs.

     -  Patti Thompson requested the number and cost of old fire sign posts available to post ATV signs.

     -  Mary Naber requested that update of the town fire number map be placed on the March agenda.

 

4.  Permits

     -  Board approved fire sign application by James Wagner for property on 24th Avenue.

 

5.  Business

     -  The following individuals volunteered to serve on the town planning committee for development of the Comprehensive (Smart Growth) plan:  Patti Thompson; Tom Guyse; RoseMarie Langland in lieu of David Singer.  Additionally, Ken Rogge had indicated he would serve. 

     -  Public hearing to be held on March 8 at 7:00 p.m., prior to the regular town board meeting.  Purpose is to hear any comments on re-enactment and re-codification of several land division ordinances [Nos. 4/4(A)/4(B)] into a single ordinance [No. 4(C)].  No substantive changes to the land division ordinance have been made.

     -  Annual audit meeting to be held on March 22 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a workshop for the board to update the town emergency operations plan.

     -  Board approved all bills on the table.

 

6.  March meeting agenda items:

     -  Establishment of town planning committee

     -  Adopt proposed Ordinance No. 4(C)/Amend Town Code of Ordinances

     -  Town fire number map

     -  Election workers/new poll hours

     -  Draft bid specs for annual road maintenance

 

7.  Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
