TOWN OF KILDARE

*SUMMARY OF TOWN BOARD MEETING

APRIL 13, 2005

 

Present:  Chairman Dennis Franek; Supervisors Leo Schneider and Dan Lapp; Treasurer Patty Schluter; Clerk Linda Winterstein; and 13 citizens

 

1.  Call to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Kildare Town Hall by Chairman Franek.

 

2.  Bids were opened for the 26th Avenue TRIP Project.  Two bids received from D. L. Gasser Construction and Scott Construction, Inc.  Apparent low bidder is Scott Construction in the amount of $128,334.39.

 

2.  Board approved the following:

     -  Minutes of the March 9, 2005 meeting; no corrections

     -  Treasurer’s report:  $95,707.51 total funds; no corrections

     -  Clerk’s report (ambulance/correspondence); no corrections

 

3.  Public comments: 

     -  Dave Singer requested information on the Wisconsin River Highlands Subdivision and the town’s land division ordinance; he also asked if the town had a master plan and border agreement with the Village of Lyndon Station to protect the town in the even of annexation and other issues.  Board responded that town comprehensive plan not begun and no border agreement in place.

 

4.  Permits

     -  Board approved the following building permits: Brian Hawkins for a house addition at W3482 54th Street ; Peter Stone for a deck at N3043 26th Avenue ; Jeffery Wojcik for a porch addition and deck at W1526 County N; and Mike Molitor for a manufactured house to replace a mobile at N1420 County HH.  

     -  Board approved the following fire signs for camper/trailers:  Rodney Knapp for property on Miller’s Circle; Kathy Silkwood for property on 60th Street ; and Lon Henke for property on  Riverview Ridge Road .

     -  Board approved  driveway permits for the following properties:  Darrel Schulz in the Wisconsin River Highlands Subdivision and Rodney Knapp on Miller’s Circle.    

 

5,  Business

     -  Chris Blum of SEH presented preliminary design plans and information on the 28th Avenue bridge reconstruction; design to be completed November 2005.  Board requested Mr. Blum check with state regarding having reconstruction start in 2006 instead of 2007.  Preliminary estimated construction cost: $150,000.

     -  Board approved operator’s licenses for Tina Rossau and Jesse Szwab; both individuals to be employed at Johnston ’s Clinic.

   -  Board discussed town annual clean-up day on Saturday, May 7, from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.

   -  Board tabled indefinitely a proposed citation ordinance as not being required at this time.

   -  Board approved payment of all bills on the table.

 

6.  May meeting agenda items:

     -  Bid opening for 2005 road maintenance contract

     -  Contract award 26th Avenue TRIP Project

     -  Report on annual town cleanup

     -  Town website business advertising

 

7.  Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
